In the era of advanced analytics and AI, data is the lifeblood of decision-making. However, when data sits in silos, it translates into lost opportunities. To help our customers overcome this challenge, we’re excited to introduce a powerful new feature: the ability to bring structured tabular data directly into SurveyAnalytica.

This feature enables you to seamlessly integrate external data with your existing survey or campaign data within a workspace. Once integrated, you can unlock the potential of advanced analytics, including text analytics, trend analysis, segmentation, and predictive modeling—all in one place.

So, how does it work?

Methods for Data Ingestion

Currently, you can import external data into SurveyAnalytica using two methods:

Flows: Through webhooks or API integrations.
File-Based Uploads: Directly uploading CSV files.

For simplicity, let’s focus on the file-based data import process.

Step-by-Step Guide: File-Based Data Import

Step 1: Creating a New Dataset

Begin by navigating to the Data view/tab on your dashboard and clicking the Upload Data button. This can be done from a specific workspace, where you can collaborate with team members and combine data from various sources, including surveys and campaigns.

Step 2: Defining and Uploading Your Data

Once you click Upload Data, the system will guide you through the dataset creation process:

Name and Describe Your Dataset
Provide a clear name and description for your dataset to help organize your workspace.

Data Intake: Upload Your CSV Files

Upload one or multiple CSV files.
If your data is in an Excel format, save it as a CSV before uploading.

Schema Validation and Adjustments

Preview your data and validate the schema.
Verify or modify inferred data types for each column/feature. For example, if a column represents timestamps, update the type to timestamp to leverage advanced trend analytics.

Publish Your Data
Once everything is set, click the Publish Data button. Depending on the data volume, the ingestion process may take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour (e.g., 1GB of data typically takes about 20 minutes).

Step 3: Leveraging Your Data for Advanced Analytics

Once the data is successfully uploaded, navigate to the Analytics tab to begin exploring its potential. From here, you can:

Use built-in analytical tools to generate insights.
Link datasets and other data sources using the Link option in the Analytics toolbar, enabling cross-dataset analysis.
