Bring Your Own Panel lets your organization host the SurveyAnalytica participant portal on your own domain — for example panel.acme.com or members.acme.com — so panelists and participants sign in, take surveys, and view their submissions on a URL that matches your brand. You bring the domain and the DNS; SurveyAnalytica handles the portal, the authentication, the tenancy guard, and the TLS certificate.

What You Actually Get

• The full participant portal served from your hostname (dashboard, survey taking, response history, certificate downloads, edits).
• A valid HTTPS certificate for your domain — automatically provisioned.
• Tenant-scoped authentication — a visitor landing on panel.acme.com is scoped to Acme’s organization. If someone from a different workspace tries to sign in on this domain, they are redirected away — participants can’t accidentally cross-tenant.
• Optional mapping to specific teams inside your org, so different subdomains can surface different slices of your participant population.

What BYO Panel Is Not

A few things worth clarifying up front:

• It is not a bring-your-own-participant-database integration — you still manage panelists inside SurveyAnalytica (contact lists, imports, invitations).
• It is not a separate Survey Custom Domain — that is a related but distinct feature that controls where surveys are served. If you want both, register each domain under its own feature.
• It is not a white-label reseller product — your logo, theme, and URL are yours; the underlying platform is still branded SurveyAnalytica in places like admin tooling.

Plan Requirements

BYO Panel is available on Professional and Enterprise plans. If your plan doesn’t include it, the Domains settings will show a read-only view.

Setting Up Your Panel Domain

Step 1 — Choose and add the domain

1. Open Settings → Domains.
2. Switch to the Participant Panel tab.
3. Click Add Domain and enter the fully-qualified hostname you want (e.g. panel.acme.com).

The hostname must be a domain you own and can configure DNS on. Sub-domains of your corporate domain work best.

Step 2 — Add the DNS records we show you

After you add the domain we show the exact records to create at your DNS provider (typically a CNAME or A/AAAA record plus a verification record). Copy each record and add it at your DNS provider — Cloudflare, Route 53, GoDaddy, etc.

DNS propagation can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. Click Check Status on the domain row to re-verify. Once DNS is in place and verified, the certificate is issued automatically.

Step 3 — Map teams (optional)

By default the domain surfaces the whole organization. If you want the domain to be associated with specific teams (for example different departments or customer segments), select them from the team picker on the domain row. This is stored as a domain→teams map so you can have several subdomains for different audiences.

How Participants Use the Panel

Once the domain is live:

• Invitation emails and links generated by surveys/campaigns will land participants on the panel domain — no change to how you send invites.
• Participants sign in with their existing credentials (or a magic link if you use email-based auth).
• The platform verifies the participant’s organization matches the domain. If not, they are signed out and sent to a “wrong workspace” screen — your panelists can never accidentally sign into the wrong tenant’s portal.
• On the participant dashboard they see only the surveys, responses, and actions that belong to your organization and the teams mapped to the domain.

Removing or Replacing a Domain

Open Settings → Domains → Participant Panel, find the row, and click the delete action. DNS records at your provider can be removed afterwards. Replacing a domain is a “remove + add” — you do not edit in place.

Troubleshooting

• Status stays “Pending” — DNS hasn’t propagated. Verify records at your provider and check again in a few minutes.
• Participants see a “wrong workspace” redirect — they are signed in under a different organization’s account. Sign out and sign back in with the correct account.
• Domain is already in use — another organization has registered the hostname. Pick a different subdomain or contact support to resolve ownership.

FAQ

Can I use the apex domain (e.g. acme.com) instead of a subdomain? We recommend a subdomain because of DNS flexibility and so your main site isn’t affected. Apex domains are possible but require an ALIAS/ANAME-capable provider.

Do I need to bring my own TLS certificate? No. The certificate is issued and renewed for you automatically once DNS is verified.

Can I have more than one panel domain? Yes — for example different subdomains for different customer segments. Each domain can map to its own set of teams.

Is the Survey Custom Domain the same thing? No — that feature controls where individual surveys are served. The two are independent and can be used together.
