Host surveys, campaigns, and the participant panel on your own domain — for example surveys.yourcompany.com instead of the default surveyanalytica.com URL.

Who can do this

Organization admins on Professional or Enterprise plans. Once verified, an admin can share the domain with any of their teams.

What you need

• Access to your DNS provider (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Route 53, Namecheap, Google Domains, etc.).
• A subdomain — recommended: surveys.yourcompany.com for Surveys and panel.yourcompany.com for the Participant Panel — or your apex domain.

Step-by-step setup

1. Go to Account → Organization → My Domains. Pick the Surveys or Participant Panel tab.
2. Enter your domain (e.g. surveys.yourcompany.com) and click Add Domain.
3. The domain card expands with a pending TXT record — copy the Type, Name, and Value.
4. In your DNS provider, add a new TXT record with those exact values. Save.
5. Back in the UI, click Reload on the domain card. Verification completes when DNS has propagated (usually 5–30 minutes; can take up to an hour).
6. After verification, the card shows a CNAME/A record. Add that to DNS too — that’s what routes traffic to our platform.
7. Once both are in place, the Teams selector unlocks. Pick the teams allowed to host surveys at this domain. Click Save.

CNAME vs A record — which one to pick

Most customers use a subdomain (surveys.yourcompany.com) and add a CNAME. Use an A record only if you’re pointing the apex (yourcompany.com), since DNS does not allow CNAMEs at the apex.

Troubleshooting

• Still pending after an hour — double-check that the TXT/CNAME Name value doesn’t have your domain appended twice (e.g. _vercel.surveys.yourcompany.com.surveys.yourcompany.com). Most DNS providers auto-append the apex.
• “Already claimed by another account” — the domain is registered under a different organization in SurveyAnalytica. Contact support to release it.
• Cloudflare proxy breaks verification — toggle the cloud icon to grey (DNS only) for the record while verifying.
• SSL “not secure” warning after CNAME set — give it another 10–20 minutes; our platform provisions the TLS certificate automatically once DNS resolves.

Sharing across teams

The domain is registered at the organization level, but each team within the organization must be explicitly granted access before its members can publish surveys at that URL. To grant access, open the domain card, pick the teams in the dropdown, and click Save. Revoking is the same flow — remove the team from the selection.
