Overview
SurveyAnalytica’s reporting capabilities let you create professional, shareable reports from your analytics data. Reports capture the current state of your dashboard, including charts, metrics, and insights, and can be exported as PDF documents for distribution to stakeholders who may not have platform access.
Accessing Reports
Reports are accessed from within the Analytics view. Click the reports icon in the analytics navigation bar or the action buttons area to open the Reports panel.
Creating a Report
From Dashboard State
The quickest way to create a report is to capture your current dashboard:
- Set up your analytics dashboard with the charts and visualizations you want to include.
- Apply any filters or date ranges to focus the data.
- Click Create Report.
- Give the report a title and optional description.
- The system captures the current dashboard state including all chart configurations and layout.
Using the Report Builder
For more control over report content and layout, use the Report Builder:
- Open the Report Builder from the reports section.
- Add sections and content blocks.
- Select which charts and metrics to include.
- Arrange the layout to create a professional document.
- Add text annotations and commentary.
- Save the report template for reuse.
Report Templates
Save report configurations as templates that can be reused across different datasets or time periods:
- Save as template: Convert any report into a reusable template.
- Apply template: Apply a saved template to new data with automatic chart regeneration.
- Share templates: Templates can be shared across the workspace for consistent reporting.
PDF Generation
SurveyAnalytica includes built-in PDF generation that produces high-quality PDF reports from your analytics data.
How PDF Generation Works
- Each chart is rendered as a high-resolution image.
- Report layout and content are assembled into a formatted document.
- The assembled document is converted to PDF.
- The resulting PDF is made available for download or sent to specified recipients.
Chart Export
Individual charts can also be exported as standalone images. Supported export formats include PNG, JPEG, SVG, and PDF.
Sharing Reports
Reports can be shared in several ways:
- Download PDF: Generate and download a PDF file directly.
- Share link: Create a shareable link to the live dashboard (requires viewer access).
- Email: Send the PDF report via email to specified recipients.
- Scheduled delivery: Set up recurring report generation and delivery on a schedule (daily, weekly, monthly).
Dashboard Sharing
Beyond static reports, you can share live analytics dashboards:
- Click the share icon from the analytics view.
- Configure sharing permissions (view only or interactive).
- Generate a shareable URL.
- Invite specific users by email.
Shared dashboards reflect the latest data and maintain the interactive features of the analytics view, including filtering, date range selection, and drill-down capabilities.
Best Practices
- Use consistent layouts: Create report templates for recurring reports to maintain visual consistency.
- Add context: Include text annotations explaining key findings and recommendations alongside charts.
- Optimize for print: When creating PDF reports, consider the page layout and ensure charts are sized appropriately for print.
- Schedule regular reports: Set up automated report delivery for stakeholders who need regular updates without logging into the platform.
- Filter before reporting: Apply date ranges and filters before generating reports to ensure the data scope is appropriate for the audience.
