The SurveyAnalytica Tally Bridge puts the figures already in TallyPrime to work: your sales invoices reach customers within minutes of being saved, your customer and supplier lists stay current, and your sales, purchase and stock figures are ready for dashboards and for a portal carrying your own brand. It is a small Windows program on the same PC as TallyPrime, reading your companies through TallyPrime’s own built-in connection on that PC and sending each new or changed record to a SurveyAnalytica flow — the automation you build once. It needs no add-on inside TallyPrime, and makes one outgoing secure connection: no inbound port, no firewall opening.
A sales invoice goes out minutes after you save it: on WhatsApp or email with a branded PDF, or as an SMS carrying the link.
Ledgers under Sundry Debtors and Sundry Creditors arrive as contacts, so your lists stay current. See Contact Lists.
Every invoice carries that customer’s outstanding balance, so a scheduled flow can follow up with the customers who owe you, on the days you choose.
Ask the customer how the order went: the flow that sent the invoice can follow it with a short feedback form on WhatsApp or email.
Add a Data step and the records are kept for analysis too: sales by customer or item, what each customer owes, purchase trends, stock position, for one branch or all. See Analytics Dashboards.
Customers sign in and see their own invoices and the balance outstanding on their account, each person only their own. See the Participant Portal.
GST e-invoice details (IRN and acknowledgement) travel with the invoice whenever Tally has them, and one PC serves several companies or branches, each routed where it should go.
TallyPrime has a built-in way to share its data with other software on the same PC — the same feature used to pull Tally reports into Excel. You switch it on once, in Step 1 (Client/Server configuration, port 9000). Every few minutes, or once a night, the bridge uses it to ask what has changed in each kind of record you chose: sales invoices, purchase bills, customer and supplier ledgers, bank accounts, stock items. What comes back is held in a queue on the PC — a file that keeps each record safe until it is delivered — and sent on to your flow, which does the rest: the invoice on WhatsApp, email or SMS; the ledger as a customer or supplier in your contact list; the figures on your sales, purchase and stock dashboards; each customer’s own invoices and balance on your portal.
| What you care about | What you get |
|---|---|
| Recovery point (RPO) | Effectively zero. Tally stays your system of record. The bridge keeps a bookmark per company and kind of record, moving it only once those records are safely in its queue on your disk. Whatever was entered while the internet, the PC or the bridge was unavailable is picked up on the next run — nothing is re-keyed. |
| Recovery time (RTO) | Decided by your PC, not the integration. There is no recovery procedure: the bridge resumes about a minute after sign-in, runs any scheduled time missed while the PC was off, and re-tries any company that was not open every 15 minutes. |
| Availability | It starts at Windows sign-in, and Windows starts it again if it ever stops — three attempts, a minute apart. The queue is a file on your disk, so a restart leaves it intact, and delivery is retried until accepted. |
| No duplicates, no gaps | Every record carries Tally’s own permanent identifier, and an edited voucher is sent again under it. Mark that field as the unique key on your flow’s step — the Configuration Guide shows where — and the entry updates in place instead of repeating. Nothing is skipped: the bookmark moves only once records are in the queue. |
| Security | Outbound HTTPS only: no inbound port, no firewall opening, no administrator rights. It never asks for or stores a Tally password, and each flow has its own key. |
| Load on Tally | It asks only for what has changed. Between scheduled runs it stays quiet, apart from the light re-check for a company that was not open. |
Recovery time is how long the Tally PC takes to be back, signed in and with its companies open. Nothing to reconfigure, nothing to re-import, nothing to key in again: the bridge picks up where it left off, and on a PC nobody sits at, Windows auto-logon makes even that automatic.
HTTPS_PROXY variable set for the account it runs under.TallyConnector.tdl is listed under TDL & Add-On, remove it and restart Tally, so each voucher travels one route.| Field | Set it to |

If another program is already using port 9000, Tally takes a different one — note it for Step 4.
They are sa-tally-bridge.exe, the one you type commands into; sa-tally-bridgew.exe, the windowless copy Windows uses in the background; and bridge.example.yml, a reference copy of every setting for hand edits later.
The flow comes first: it gives you the two things to copy, a web address and a key.
Tally records, pick a Workspace if asked, and press Save. One flow can receive everything, or each kind of record can have its own, with its own URL and KEY — see the Configuration Guide.
Tip. Generate New issues a fresh key. After using it, paste the new key into bridge.yml, restart the bridge, then press Update Live.
Open C:\ProgramData\SurveyAnalytica in File Explorer, click into the address bar, type cmd over the path and press Enter: a Command Prompt opens at that folder, and Ctrl+V pastes into it.
Before you start: save any voucher you are part-way through in Tally. The wizard sets TallyPrime to open your chosen companies at start-up (keeping a copy of your original settings as tally.ini.sa-backup), and may restart Tally to load them.
Command Prompt
sa-tally-bridge.exe init
The wizard prints === SurveyAnalytica Tally Bridge Setup === and asks one question at a time, each with its suggested answer in square brackets; Enter accepts it. Use the wizard for first-time setup: it starts from a clean sheet each time, so make later changes in bridge.yml with Notepad, as the Configuration Guide shows.
| What it asks | What to answer |
|---|---|
Tally HTTP Gateway URL [http://localhost:9000]:Tally executable path [C:\Program Files\TallyPrime\tally.exe]:Tally ini path [C:\Program Files\TallyPrime\tally.ini]:Tally Data Folder Path [...]: | Enter to each. Change the port only if Step 1 took a different one, and the executable path only if TallyPrime is installed elsewhere — the ini path follows from it, and the data folder comes from Tally’s own settings. |
Enter company folder numbers comma-separated (or 'all') [all]: | Above it the wizard lists the company folders on disk. Type the numbers to sync, e.g. 1,3, or Enter for all — Tally opens these by itself from now on. |
Tally is running but reports no open companies. Restart Tally to load the selection? (y/n) [y]:Tally's gateway is not answering yet (login screens still open?). Keep waiting? (y/n) [y]: | Asked while Tally loads. y restarts Tally with your selection, then waits in two-minute rounds until you clear any Company Login screens. |
Enter company numbers comma-separated (or 'all') [all]: | Now the list is what Tally has open; choose the ones to sync. If it returned no list, it asks Company name 1: instead — type each name as Tally spells it, ending with an empty line. |
Enter numbers comma-separated (e.g., 1,3,7) [1,3,7]: | Which records to sync, from the menu below, for every company you selected. |
Global fallback Webhook URL (used when a transaction has no specific one):API key (code) for the global webhook: | Paste the URL : and then the KEY : from Step 3; everything without its own address goes here. |
Webhook URL for sales (empty = global):API key (code) for the sales webhook: | Asked for each kind of record. Enter uses the address above; paste another flow’s URL and key to send that type there. |
How often should the bridge read Tally? [1/2] [1]: | Enter for 1, automatic: the first sync reads your whole history, so you want it running while you are at the PC. Move to a nightly time afterwards in bridge.yml. |
Time of day (24h HH:MM) [21:30]:Timezone (IANA name) [Asia/Kolkata]: | Asked only after answering 2. Type a time such as 21:30; Enter on the second gives Indian time. |
The kinds of record it offers
Available Transactions to Sync:
1) Sales Vouchers (sales)
2) Purchase Vouchers (purchase)
3) Customers — Sundry Debtors only (ledgers/debtors)
4) Suppliers — Sundry Creditors only (ledgers/creditors)
5) Bank Accounts (ledgers/bank)
6) ALL Ledgers — full chart of accounts (ledgers)
7) Stock Items (stockItems)
Enter numbers comma-separated (e.g., 1,3,7) [1,3,7]:
It saves the settings and prints:
Command Prompt
Setup complete! Configuration saved to bridge.yml
Sync schedule: every 5m0s
Start it with: sa-tally-bridge run --config bridge.yml
Start at logon: sa-tally-bridge task install --config bridge.yml
Good to know. If the wizard mentions records being “dropped”, records wait safely in the queue until a destination is set.
The test sends about ten recent records of each kind straight to the flow, so you see your own figures arriving before the full sync begins. The bookmark does not move and nothing is queued, so the first real run still covers your whole history.
Command Prompt
sa-tally-bridge.exe test --config bridge.yml
A working run prints a line per company and kind of record, then a closing line:
Command Prompt
[TEST] Acme Traders/sales: 10 records delivered OK
[TEST] Acme Traders/ledgers/debtors: 10 records delivered OK
Test run complete — all sampled streams delivered. Watermarks
untouched; the real run will still sync full history.
no recent records found means that company has nothing of that kind yet. Lines about companies not open, or Tally not answering, are covered in the troubleshooting table below. webhook delivery FAILED means the address or key does not match the flow: re-copy both from the trigger panel.
Now teach the flow the shape of the data:
Good to know. Where many records arrived at once, this panel shows a shortened copy — every field name is there, which is all Apply needs, and full runs send everything.
The first sync is the big one: it reads the entire history of each company and kind of record in one run, at roughly 5,000 records a minute, so a company with 100,000 vouchers on file is about twenty minutes. Do it at the PC, in the automatic mode from Step 4.
Command Prompt
sa-tally-bridge.exe run --config bridge.yml
The window prints Bridge running... (Press Ctrl+C to stop) and reports each cycle; leave it open. In a second Command Prompt, ask how it is doing:
Command Prompt
sa-tally-bridge.exe status --config bridge.yml
The report is written when a whole pass over Tally finishes, so until the first one ends status answers no status yet. Watch the first window for a line beginning Cycle, then ask again.
What it prints
Last run : Sat, 19 Sep 2026 11:04:12 IST → 11:04:48 (partial)
Next run : Sat, 19 Sep 2026 11:09:12 IST
Records : 1250 enqueued last run; outbox depth 0
Pending : 1 stream(s) awaiting retry
- Globex Industries / sales : company_closed
ok Acme Traders / sales : up_to_date (watermark 260409/260409, 0 records)
You are waiting for an ok line reading up_to_date for every company and kind of record, with outbox depth 0 and no Pending line. Anything still working is listed under Pending with its reason: company_closed means that company is not open in Tally — open it and it is picked up within minutes.
Check the flow meanwhile: records should be arriving and your steps running. When every company and kind of record reads up_to_date, press Ctrl+C. To move to a nightly time, open bridge.yml in Notepad and restart the bridge, as the Configuration Guide shows.
Register the bridge with Windows so it starts whenever you sign in, pointed at the windowless file so no window sits on the desktop.
Command Prompt
sa-tally-bridge.exe task install --exe sa-tally-bridgew.exe
It checks your settings, names anything missing, then confirms the task:
Command Prompt
Scheduled task "\SurveyAnalytica\Tally Bridge" installed.
runs : ...\sa-tally-bridgew.exe run --config "...\bridge.yml"
as : the current account (SID ...), interactive session only
starts : at logon, after PT1M
sync : every 5m0s
The full paths are shortened above. after PT1M means it starts about a minute after sign-in, giving Tally time to load, and task status confirms the registration at any time. The bridge runs in your signed-in Windows session, alongside Tally; for a PC nobody sits at, turn on Windows auto-logon and it comes back by itself after a restart.
Start it now. The task takes over at your next sign-in, so give it its first start by hand — the same three clicks you will use after any settings change.
The bridge reads bridge.yml at start, so a change takes effect the next time it starts — and these three clicks give it that first start:
Signing out and back in does the same; a minute or two later, status reports a finished run.
Your settings, the queue and the record of what was already sent live beside the program and stay as they are. version reports the version installed; status reports the one that produced the last run. After moving the folder, run task install again.
sa-tally-bridge.exe task uninstall. It replies Scheduled task removed.| What you see | What it means | What to do |

| Windows protected your PC, or the file disappears after downloading | Windows and some antivirus products are cautious with new downloads. | Click More info, then Run anyway. If antivirus took the file, restore it from quarantine and allow the folder. |
The test prints could not reach Tally's gateway or Tally answered but has no companies open; or status shows Blocked : gateway_error or gateway_empty |
Tally is closed, a login screen waits in front of it, or Tally is sharing its data on a different port. (gateway is the bridge’s own word for that port-9000 connection.) |
Look at the Tally window, log in where asked, leave the companies open. If they are already open, check Step 1: press F1 (Help), open About, and make sure the port matches the one the wizard was given. |
The wizard printed Warning: could not update ... tally.ini |
That file sits in TallyPrime’s program folder, which ordinary accounts may only read, so the auto-open list is unchanged. | Open the companies yourself before the bridge runs, or re-run init from a Command Prompt opened with Run as administrator. |
| Nothing syncs after a restart | The task runs while that Windows account is signed in. | Sign in and open Tally with its companies; the bridge resumes about a minute later. For an unattended PC, use auto-logon. |
task install mentions SCHED_S_SOME_TRIGGERS_FAILED |
It was registered for an account other than this machine’s interactive one. | The message names the account: sign in as the one that uses Tally and run task install there. |
It worked, then paused, and the log repeats Webhook returned HTTP 401 |
The key was changed with Generate New and the flow made live again, so it expects the new key. | Copy the new KEY : into bridge.yml and restart the bridge; the queued records go out once it matches. |
| Double-clicking sa-tally-bridgew.exe shows SurveyAnalytica Tally Bridge — wrong executable | That is the windowless copy the scheduled task uses. | Type commands into sa-tally-bridge.exe instead. |
The bridge keeps its own log, sa-tally-bridge.log, beside the settings file: plain text, newest lines last.
The bridge is installed, tested and starting by itself. Next: which companies and kinds of record it sends, where each goes, and what your flow does with them — Tally Prime Connector — Configuration Guide.
